Flash floods in KL, again and again 12 may 2014
Flash floods has hit several areas in Kuala Lumpur, following heavy downpour which started at about 2.30pm.
Water is rising at major roads including Jalan Bangsar and Jalan
Semantan, according to Kuala Lumpur City Hall's Integrated Transport
Information System (Itis) alerts. Twitter users also share pictures and alerts of water rising at Jalan
Mahameru, Jalan Duta, Jalan Chan Sow Lin and Jalan Kia Peng.
Some pictures show water rising to more than 30 centimetres deep with rain ongoing.
Meanwhile, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Bhd (KTMB) said that Komuter service
between Bank Negara and Kuala Lumpur is stalled due to flash floods. According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is
expected to continue until later this month when prolonged drought is
expected happen.
