Leicester city vs Newcastele epl 29.9.2019



The King Power Stadium is a veritable fortress, with Leicester losing just one of their previous nine Premier League (PL) matches here (W6, D2, L1). They scored two or more goals in six of those fixtures, and additionally, 66.67% of their overall goals in that run came in the second half.
Though firm favorites here, Leicester do tend to concede regularly. Notably, Brendan Rodgers’ men are without a clean sheet in their last five PL outings (W3, D1, L1), with all except the defeat producing over 1.5 goals and seeing the first two match goals shared equally.
If taking only the regulation 90 minutes (+ stoppage-time) into account from here, Newcastle has managed just one competitive win so far (W1, D3, L3). That noted they have won on their last two league visits to Leicester, specifically winning the first half 1-0 each time.
Newcastle does, however, tend to struggle in defense when traveling, conceding a goal in 12 of their previous 15 competitive away matches. Additionally, their opponents managed to breach their goal again by scoring two or more goals in eight of those 12 away fixtures.
Players to watch Former Newcastle man Ayoze Perez will be looking to find the net against his former side, as he faces them for the first time in the PL since his switch to Leicester.
Goals have been hard to come by for Newcastle, but new recruit Jetro Willems scored a cracker vs Liverpool in his side’s last PL away game.
Stat attack: Each one of Leicester’s 90-minute victories has seen them score a goal on or after the 70th minute.
Leicester’s total of four yellow cards is the joint-lowest in the PL this season.
Newcastle has scored a first-half goal in three of the previous four PL H2H matches.
